Installation of the Mustang wiring harnesses can be tricky.
I would recommend not cutting anything out of the harness
unless you are absolutely positive that it isn't needed.
One method for eliminating extra wiring is to cut the wires
to things that aren't needed as you are removing the harness
from the donor car.
The dash wiring is fairly easy to position.
In order to hook up the aftermarket gauges, the Mustang gauge
cluster must be modified and mounted on the firewall. I added
a terminal block here to connect all the wiring for the gauges.
The wiring is tight in the footbox, but it can be kept
somewhat neat. It is very important to secure all wiring so
as to keep it out of the brake and clutch mechanisms.
A manual fan switch allows the radiator fan to be switched
on any time its needed. This switch is located on the far
left side of the dash.
The Mustang ignition switch was retained and mounted under
the dash. The inertia switch was also retained. In a hard
impact, this switch interrupts the fuel pump circuit.
The engine management computer mounts in the top of the
passenger footbox.
The battery box is mounted in the right side
of the trunk to help weight distribution. A short ground wire
runs to the frame rail, and the power wire goes to the main
power switch. The switch is mounted at the top center of the
rear interior wall to allow easy access from all directions.

The

2003 before the start of the race season.
